This Mount Baker residence cabinet package includes a kitchen, continuous wall storage transitioning into a bench and the careful melding together of passage doors and wall paneling. The cabinets are made of sequenced plain sawn maple and integrate with custom stainless counters and a large pivot door (by others). The hardware consists of various Blum operable hardware, Hafele touchlatches and Mockett tab pulls.

The Gentzkow residence cabinet package included a full kitchen along with two bathrooms. In the kitchen, a bank of large wall cabinets is balanced with a slimmer pantry system on the opposing wall. A generous cooking island sits between the wall banks and provides the new hub of the residence. All cabinets were made of stained quartersawn Mahogany using standard SPD continuous horizontal pulls along with fully-integrated hardwood vertical pulls. SPD worked closely with Peter Strang of Propellor Design Build who orchestrated project along with complimentary finishes including countertops and tile.

The SPD line of furniture is constantly evolving and currently includes chairs, benches, coffee tables and stand-alone cabinets. Each furniture piece is forward-thinking, elegant and achieves a practicality of modern living.
SPD is a subsidiary of its parent company, BUILD LLC, and the cabinet shop is well integrated with BUILD’s core capabilities in Architecural design, construction management and hands-on expertise. SPD draws from our combined wealth of experience in design, construction and wood working.
David Hentzel is the primary partner of SPD and runs our cabinet shop.
With 30 years of wood-working experience, David is a master woodworker. His work has been exhibited from Seattle to New York, collecting 32 woodworking and furniture awards; 24 of which were for best of show.
David learned cabinet making from his grandfather and went on to study under Sam Maloof, the father of contemporary furniture. And, David routinely uses tools that you’ve probably never even heard of.
